Subject: Caio and The Road Less Traveled

Brother Caio,

The closing of your reply to the kind letter from Maria Tereza [
O SEU AMOR PARA COM TODOS NÓS ] led me to write the little poem below.

Affectionate hugs,

Fausto

Caio and The Road Less Traveled

There he goes, on the same old road:

The road less traveled.

But what ever happened to his suit and tie?

Some say he is a freak

Well, yes, he may look a bit weird;

Beautifully weird, though.

A reddish cap is on his long hair.

He grew a rather long beard, now grayed by time.

But not even his foes can deny

That he has a certain something

That is literally out of this world.

There he goes, on the same old road.

He never stops sowing the seeds of grace

—the very same seeds his Master first sowed.

Funny, he never seems to weary

Although he is a man of sorrows

And acquainted with grief.

He lends his hand

To every brother and sister who calls on him

And leads them, with much love,

Into the path of grace

So they can eventually reach

Adulthood on the inside.

There he goes, on the same old road,

And, as they look into his eyes

And see the image of the Son of God,

Many are willing to go with him;

To listen to the Message of the Cross he never ceases to spread;

To love him as they are loved.

And as he journeys nonstop

He teaches nothing but the grace of God.

There he goes, on the same old road.

And he is never alone,

Even when nobody seems to be nearby;

Even when he is stuck into the Amazon Forest,

All by himself,

Fasting and praying and praising the Lord

For all the riches of His creation.

Matthew, Mark, Luke, John,

And a somewhat odd fellow called Paul

Keep him permanent company.

There he goes, on the same old road:

The road still less traveled;

The narrow road of broad grace,

Where he walks on

As a free man in Christ.

Fausto, mano: Assim você me mata!

The Long And Winding Road

Lennon/McCartney

Lyrics:

The long and winding road
that leads to your door
will never disappear
I've seen that road before
It always leads me her
Lead me to you door

The wild and windy night
that the rain washed away
Has left a pool of tears
crying for the day
Why leave me standing here
let me know the way

Many times I've been alone
and many times I've cried
Any way you'll never know
the many ways I've tried

But still they lead me back
to the long winding road
You left me standing here
a long long time ago
Don't leave me waiting here
lead me to your door

But still they lead me back
to the long winding road
You left me standing here
a long long time ago
Don't leave me waiting here
lead me to your door
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Entretanto, dela, me sobraram a Porta e a Estrada Longa. Mas já não posso dizer:

 “You left me standing here
a long long time ago

Don't leave me waiting here
lead me to your door”

Caio
