THE DOCTOR ARRIVED AT DAWN
After praying while walking around the house, I stopped in front of my parents’ bed and had an intimate conversation with God. That kind of talk leaves the left ignorant of what the right said, let alone third parties. That is, what we talked about is not to be written in a report, because it belongs to a level that takes its meaning away if it is told as a story.
The fact is that I walked back into my room here in their home, turned to the place where the hospital is located, and prayed something that should not be reported either, for the reasons I mentioned above.
And I experienced great, deep joy in the Holy Spirit, a strong impetus of faith, and great assuredness that prayer brings about much joy through its answers.
In short, I asked the Lord to send His Doctor there at that very moment, and that Hilton could feel the presence of God, and that Dad could wake up, and that the bleeding could cease, and that everything else could be cleaned, and that everyone around could be bewildered. Then I said, “Lord, I’m very hungry. I’ll take the cell phone along to the kitchen because I’m waiting for Hilton’s call very soon.”
It was he.
“Mr. Caio, I’ve never seen something like this in my twenty-four years as a nurse! The man woke up. His eyes are open. He’s ruddy. I asked if he was in pain and he said, ‘No.’ I checked the open part and the bleeding had stopped. It’s open and dried up; how come? Look, it must be God! It’s a miracle. I asked him to take my hand and he held it tight. He’s strong… I’ve never seen anything like this. Let’s keep on praying.”
Then I told him what had happened “over here” and asked if he believed. “Of course I do, Mr. Caio. Aren’t I seeing this right here? God alone can do it!”
This happened about 40 minutes ago.
Now it’s 5 a.m. here (6 a.m. in Brasilia).
Let’s keep on praying and believing, because the joy that visits me now is already so great.
In Him, who told us to ask so our joy would be complete,
